Voluntary Biodiversity Credits for Organisations and Individuals
Invest in Landscape-scale Nature Recovery from just £200 per credit
Voluntary Biodiversity Credits (VBCs) are a way for organisations, families and individuals to play a meaningful part in tackling the nature and climate crises by supporting real, measurable habitat restoration.
Costing just £200, each credit represents 9 sqm of land at Boothby Wildland, Nattergal’s 617ha flagship site in Lincolnshire, England, that is actively being restored - from river edges and grassland to ponds, wetlands and scrub.
Through Nattergal’s partnership with Earthly, each VBC purchase supports high‑integrity, science-based Nature recovery in the UK and gives you transparent, verified proof of your impact.
Why VBCs are perfect for businesses
Differentiate your business with real UK Nature recovery by becoming a recognised supporter of on‑the‑ground restoration.
Your credits fund practical interventions such as river restoration, pond creation, scrub establishment and grassland regeneration, delivering landscape‑level benefits including improved pollination, flood resilience, soil health and carbon sequestration - demonstrating genuine environmental leadership.
Signal to your employees or clients that you are engaged in the local environment. Bring your sustainability strategy to life by aligning incentives and rewards with sustainability commitments (e.g. ‘1 credit per employee KPI met’)
Show measurable, verified impact. Feel confident in the impact you are having thanks to a dedicated Earthly customer portal, which provides:
third‑party verified metrics
data ready for TNFD, SBTN and corporate sustainability reporting
storytelling assets and transparent, traceable impact data.
A meaningful gift or legacy for Individuals
Make a positive personal impact.
A Voluntary Biodiversity Credit gives you a tangible link to a real place in the UK where nature is actively recovering, offering a meaningful way to engage with landscape restoration.
You can use your credit to:
honour a loved one
celebrate a special occasion
begin a family tradition of supporting Nature.
Your square of Boothby Wildland is mapped to precise What3Words coordinates, and you’re welcome to visit via our 21km of public footpaths to watch nature come back to life.
Your contribution restores habitats for birds, insects, mammals and amphibians—and supports long‑term stewardship of a landscape your family can enjoy for generations.
How does it work?
Each Voluntary Biodiversity Credit represents 9 sqm (3×3 sqm) of land currently being rewilded at Boothby Wildland.
Your square is viewable on your Earthly customer portal and fully traceable via What3Words.
Every credit is listed on Earthly’s transparent public register.
Voluntary Biodiversity Credits are verified using Defra’s statutory Biodiversity Net Gain metric, with additional Nattergal monitoring covering soil health, species abundance and community engagement.
Land is secured for Nature restoration for a minimum of 30 years through Section 106 agreements or conservation covenants, ensuring long-lasting ecological and social benefit.
Robust, science-backed assessment
Boothby Wildland has been rigorously evaluated using Earthly’s Keystone 3.0 assessment framework, analysing 106 data points across carbon, biodiversity and community engagement
With 92% of projects failing Earthly’s screening, Boothby ranks in the top 8% and currently stands as Earthly’s highest‑scoring Voluntary Biodiversity Credit project, with a validation score of 8.2.
